A Note from the Founders
Choosing a therapy centre is a deeply personal decision. Most people who arrive here are not simply looking for information — they are looking for the reassurance that when they speak, they will be understood right away, met with skilled, validating communication, and experience a sense of peace of mind.
In a diverse, fast-paced city like Dubai, many people feel frustrated by not being able to fully get their point across — at work, in relationships, or even in healthcare settings. Being misunderstood can be exhausting. Feeling truly heard can be profoundly relieving.
Belle Vie was created to meet this need.
We are Dr. Elif, a Clinical Psychologist, and Dr. Jais, a Professor of social psychology. We live and work in the UAE, and together we bring complementary perspectives shaped by clinical practice and academic research.
Through clinical work and research published in high impact psychology journals, we have spent years studying and working with issues related to stress, identity, relationships, and major life transitions. This combined lens allows us to understand not only individual emotional experiences, but also the broader social and cultural forces that shape mental health, particularly within expat communities.
In fast-paced, high-performing environments like the UAE, it is increasingly common for expats to use therapy as a form of psychological support, reflection, and recalibration. Professionals, parents, couples, and individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds are engaging in therapy as part of maintaining resilience, clarity, and emotional balance while living far from familiar support systems.
In clinical practice, Dr. Elif frequently meets people who are functioning well on the outside—successful in their careers, capable in their roles—yet privately carrying anxiety, low mood, burnout, or emotional disconnection. Many are already aware that others around them are seeking therapy; what often holds them back is uncertainty about where they will feel genuinely understood.
Belle Vie was created to meet this need.
Our approach is grounded in scientific integrity, evidence-based practice, and deep respect for each individual’s experience. Seeking support has become a normal and healthy part of expat life. Whether you are navigating anxiety, low mood, burnout, relationship challenges, or the quieter emotional complexities of living abroad, you are not alone—and you are not unusual in seeking support.
We would be honoured to support you on your therapeutic journey.
